Our Story
Every persimmon on this label had to wait.
Persimmons can't be rushed. Picked too early, they're impossibly astringent, full of the same tannins we rely on. Left to ripen fully, that astringency turns soft, sweet, and useful. Second Season is built on the same idea: some things get better, not worse, with time.
Most products aimed at getting older talk around it, in euphemism and pastel packaging. We wanted one exceptional bar, formulated plainly and explained honestly: no filler fragrance, no unnecessary ingredients, nothing to hide behind.
The Science of Persimmon
The science behind a very old fruit.
As skin changes with age, so can body odor, largely due to a compound called Nonenal. Persimmon tannin has been studied for its ability to help neutralize it. Here's the plain language version.
Nonenal, explained
Nonenal is the compound most associated with age related body odor. It becomes more noticeable as skin chemistry shifts over time. It's biology, not a hygiene issue.
Persimmon tannin
Diospyros kaki fruit extract is naturally rich in tannins studied for their ability to help bind and neutralize nonenal at the source.
Unscented by design
No fragrance layered on top to mask anything, just a bar formulated to work with skin as it changes, not around it.
We keep our claims modest: persimmon tannin is studied for helping to neutralize nonenal, not a cure.
