Second Season started with a simple observation: almost everything marketed at getting older still talks around it, in euphemism, in pastel packaging, in language built to reassure rather than respect. We wanted to make one exceptional bar of soap and talk about exactly what it does, plainly, for people who'd rather be told the truth than sold a mood.

The persimmon itself became the model. It's one of the only fruits that improves by waiting, astringent and unpalatable until well past the first frost, then suddenly, fully ripe. That's the second season: not a decline, a turn. We use an extract from that same fruit, studied for its ability to help neutralize nonenal, the compound behind the way body odor can shift with age. It's a small, specific piece of chemistry, treated with the same care as the rest of the bar: no filler fragrance, no unnecessary ingredients, nothing to hide behind.
Second Season Botanicals makes one product. We'd rather do one thing honestly than a dozen things around it.
